Taylor Swift Ties The Knot With Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift said "I do" to boyfriend Travis Kelce, and the whole world was watching. The pair tied the knot at New York's Madison Square Garden, surrounded by family and famous friends. Travis's big brother Jason Kelce had the sweetest job on the day, while sister-in-law Kylie Kelce finally spoke out, calling the wedding "incredible". Fans were so obsessed with the big day that one artist even collected rubbish left outside the venue afterwards and turned it into art. From the guest list to the outfits, everyone wanted a piece of it. One thing is for sure: Taylor and Travis know how to make headlines, even on their happiest day yet.

Olivia Rodrigo Drops Huge New Concept Album

Olivia Rodrigo has just dropped her third album, called You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, and critics reckon it could be the album of the year. It's a concept album with thirteen songs that tell one big story, following a relationship from the first butterflies all the way to heartbreak. The New York Times even said the record "is a vibe", which is about the highest compliment a paper can give. Olivia is clearly having a big moment, she recently hosted a music category on Jeopardy! too, sharing the artists who inspire her own sound. With songwriting this sharp, do not be surprised if this album is still being talked about come awards season.

Today's Lesson: The Handstand

real Poppie words

Start at the wall

  1. Do it near a wall first.
  2. Arms up in the air, by your ears.
  3. One leg in front of you β€” into a lunge.
  4. Go forward β€” as your arms come down, your straight leg lifts behind you. You should end up in a T (or a Wonder Woman!).
  5. Keep going down β€” hands on the ground, and your other leg kicks up until it hits the wall.

Holding it longer

  1. Spread your hands out and kind of dig them into the ground β€” you'll hold your handstand longer.
  2. Always point your toes.

Then try without the wall

  1. Same thing on the open floor β€” hands up by your ears, lunge, down into the T, hands on the ground, kick up. Keep practising until it's straight and controlled.

Get stronger β€” with a helper

  1. Flat-back drill: lie on the ground and push your back into the floor so there are no gaps. A family member or friend tries to slide their hand under your back β€” if it can't get through, you're doing it right.
  2. Tight-body drill: lie down as if you're in a handstand and stay really tight. Your helper lifts your legs β€” if you come up in one straight diagonal line, that's right. If your bum stays on the floor… that's wrong!

Coach's tip: always practise on something soft, and warm up first! πŸ’œ

Recipe 1: How to Cook a Steak

real Poppie words

Before you start

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Take your steak out and put it on a chopping board or plate.

Season it

  1. Heat your pan β€” around medium to high heat.
  2. Salt and pepper β€” rub it in, massage it a bit β€” then do the other side.
  3. Put the olive oil on the steak, not on the pan.

Cook it

  1. Steak onto the pan.
  2. One minute on each side β€” keep flipping until it looks done the way you like it: well done, medium rare, however you like your steak.
  3. Take it off the pan and let it cool for a bit.
  4. Then you can cut your steak up.

Chef's tip: the oil goes on the steak, not the pan β€” that's how the pros do it. 🍳
